We'll start off with a detailed section about proper dance posture. The Moves
- Altogether, you'll learn 10 of the most basic, fundamental movements of belly dance. Each movement is broken down verbally, visually and with counts. Heather will also show you some of the most common pitfalls to watch for and how to correct them. Belly dance movements are all natural and body friendly (no matter what your body type). These moves are already inside your body. Heather will show you how to get your brain out of the way and let those moves come out to play!
- When we've worked through the movement breakdowns, we'll move on to the combination. Heather will walk you through each combination demonstrating and counting each of the three movements. We'll repeat this so you can get a handle on it. You'll quickly see how the movements fit together into some fun and sassy combinations.
- Then we'll turn on the music. But don't worry! Heather isn't going to leave you on your own. She will dance through the combo right along with you while giving you verbal cues about what movement comes next. With a few repetitions, you'll know exactly how it goes.
- Lastly, we'll dance the combination together with music, but without the cues. These repetitive practice loops will help you get the combination down in no time!
And when you've worked through the learning modules, the combinations all fit together into a full choreography!
